Austria Ski Trip 2024

There is a huge amount of trip experience

Staff to pupil ratio of around 1:7

We are able to take 53 pupils and 7 staff

Resort

  • Flachau

  • Salzburger Sportwelt (Ski Amade)

  • Height varies from 1200m to 2700m

  • 760km of ski runs

  • Mixture of gondola, chair lifts and drag lifts

  • Mixture of runs with majority being blue and

    red.

What’s included

  • Coach transfers to Austria

    ❖ Boots, Skis, Poles and helmet will be provided by the hire shop in resort.

All pupils will be provided with:-

● Small piece of hand luggage - for on the coach (please pack ski socks)

● Warm comfortable clothes for travel

● All students to wear hoodies for travelling and excursions

● Clothes for evening activities

● Swimwear and towel

Ennstalerhof

Rooms are between 4 and 8 people

Hotel is 10 mins from the resort centre and located in a small village

Typical daily schedule

Wake up 8:00 am

Breakfast in hotel

All skiing with fully qualified instructors. No skiing

without an instructor.

2 hour lesson in the morning

Lunch on the mountain

3 hour lesson after lunch

Dinner in Hotel

Evening activities could include swimming, pizza night,

toboggan run, sports hall, games

Important information

  • It is a ski, trip not just a social experience - if you are planning

to chill out and have a relaxing

rest, you are on the wrong trip!

  • Students will be issued with ID cards with emergency contact details in case of an emergency which must be carried at all times

  • Students must wear their ski trip hoodies when travelling and on excursions - this makes it easier for staff to keep an eye on their

groups and keep everybody safe

  • On the mountain, the ski instructors hold the same authority as a teacher

  • Spending money and budgeting is the children’s responsibility.

  • Recommended spending €10-15 per day. A Caxton Card can be preloaded and topped up by parents if necessary

Health and Fitness

Skiing is a demanding activity and requires lots of calories and a good level of fitness

  • Students must be fit enough for 5 hours of exercise

    a day

  • All students must eat breakfast (and all other meals)

  • Dry slope ski session (to be planned and costed once

    we know exact numbers)

  • 4 week fitness session (once a week after school)

Behaviour

During the trip there are certain rules which need to be followed at

all times.

  • Courtesy, common sense, helpfulness, resilience and enthusiasm

    are essential

  • Any instructions from the adults on the trip must be followed

  • Bad language will not be tolerated

  • Alcohol, lighters, matches and vapes are forbidden at all times

  • Always stay in groups of four

  • The students are responsible for their personal possessions at all

    times

  • It is essential that students are on time for meals and activities

  • NO MOBILE PHONES AT MEAL TIMES

  • Any damage caused by lack of care and consideration will be charged to those responsible

It is very rare that our students let themselves down, however, if a serious behavioural issue occurs, parents will be informed and any action taken may result in costs being incurred.

Health care

  • All students are fully insured

  • Staff must be notified of any medication required and be given to your group leader.

  • All students must eat at meal times. 33% more energy is used at altitude.

    Skiing is extremely demanding on the body.

  • 3 meals a day are provided, but money for snacks on the

    slopes such as drinks and snacks is advised.

  • We have 4 staff first aid trained plus the instructors and

    staff at the hotel

Passports

Please can you ensure that passports are in date with at least 3 months before they expire.

We also need a copy of the passport to

all times.
